Description
Analysis Note
The positively-charged protein, lyzoyme (pI=11), exhibits excellent peak shape and recovery on SRT SEC-300 columns due to its highly-inert surface. Low protein recovery is usually attributed to 1) hydrophobic interactions with the stationary phase and 2) electrostatic interactions with the silica suface. SRT SEC-300 surface is hydrophilic and densely bonded to silica, therefore providing high mass recovery and good peak shape.
