General description
Fenpropimorph is a systematic fungicide that belongs to the morpholine group of sterol biosynthesis inhibitors. It is widely applied in cereals to control pathogens such as Erysiphe graminis (powdery mildew) and Puccinia recondita (cereal rust). Fenpropimorph inhibits fungal Δ8-7 isomerase and Δ14 reductase, enzymes involved in the ergosterol biosynthesis.
Fenpropimorph is not approved for use in European Union (EU) as per Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009. The maximum residue level (MRLs) for fenpropimorph (sum of isomers), following Reg. (EU) 2019/552 has been set from 0.01 mg/kg to 3 mg/kg for products of plant and animal origin.
Fenpropimorph has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.
Application
- Transcriptome analysis of Aspergillus niger in response to the antifungal compounds caspofungin and fenpropimorph
- Examine the effects of fenpropimorph, prochloraz, and tebuconazole on the growth and production of T-2 and HT-2 toxins in Fusarium langsethiae isolated from oats
- Simultaneous determination of fenpropimorph and the metabolite fenpropimorphic acid in soil using GC/MS and GC/NPD
- Investigate the effects of fenpropimorph on bacteria and fungi during decomposition of barley roots in agricultural soil
- Study the effects of fenpropimorph and fenhexamid on the spore germination, germ tube elongation, sporulation, and root colonization of Glomus intraradices grown in monoxenic culture on excised carrot roots
