General description

Phencyclidine, commonly known as PCP, is a recreational drug with hallucinogenic and neurotoxic effects. With street names such as "angel dust" or "wet", PCP comes in either powder or liquid forms. Phencyclidine-D5 is a stable-labeled internal standard suitable for quantitation of PCP levels in urine, blood or hair by LC/MS or GC/MS for testing applications in urine drug testing, clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, or isotope dilution methods.

Application

  • Quantitative determination of phencyclidine in pigmented and nonpigmented hair by ion-trap mass spectrometry.: The research highlights the application of PCP-D5 in analytical research, particularly in quantifying phencyclidine levels in both pigmented and nonpigmented hair using ion-trap mass spectrometry, emphasizing its utility in precise substance detection (Slawson et al., 1996).
