General description

B7 homolog 3 (B7-H3 or CD276) is a costimulatory molecule belonging to the B7 family that signals through the CD28 family of molecules, including CD28, CTLA4 and ICOS. B7-H3 may be involved in the regulation of T-cell-mediated immune response and may play a protective role in tumor cells by inhibiting natural-killer mediated cell lysis, as well as a role of marker for detection of neuroblastoma cells. B7-H3 may also play a key role in providing the placenta and fetus with a suitable immunological environment throughout pregnancy. Both isoform 1 and isoform 2 appear to be redundant in their ability to modulate CD4 T-cell responses. Isoform 2 is shown to enhance the induction of cytotoxic T-cells and selectively stimulates interferon gamma production in the presence of T-cell receptor signaling. B7-H3 is ubiquitous but not detectable in peripheral blood lymphocytes or granulocytes, and it is weakly expressed in resting monocytes. B7-H3 is expressed in dendritic cells derived from monocytes, epithelial cells of sinonasal tissue, extravillous trophoblast cells and Hofbauer cells of the first trimester placenta and term placenta.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the extracellular domain of B7-H3 (CD276).

Immunogen

Epitope: Extracellular Domain
Mouse B7-H3 Ig2a FC fusion protein, consisting of the extracellular domain linked to the Fc portion of mouse IgG2a.

Application
