General description
Tetramethylrhodamine (TMR) phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a fatty acid labeled fluorescent phospholipid. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the most abundant phospholipid in eukaryotes. It is the prime metabolite of glycerolipid metabolism.
Application
TopFluor™ TMR PC or 1-oleoyl-2-(6-((4,4-difluoro-1,3-dimethyl-5-(4-methoxyphenyl)-4-bora-3α,4α-diaza-s-indacene-2-propionyl)amino)hexanoyl)-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine may be used for the formation of lipid membranes in microarrays.
Biochem/physiol Actions
TopFluor™-labeled lipids have spectral properties similar to tetramethylrhodamine (TMR).

Micro-chamber arrays enable highly sensitive and quantitative bioassays at the single-molecule level. Accordingly, they are widely used for ultra-sensitive biomedical applications, e.g., digital PCR and digital ELISA. However, the versatility of micro-chambers is generally limited to reactions in aqueous solutions

Transmembrane protein 16F (TMEM16F) is a Ca2+-dependent phospholipid scramblase that translocates phospholipids bidirectionally between the leaflets of the plasma membrane. Phospholipid scrambling of TMEM16F causes exposure of phosphatidylserine in activated platelets to induce blood clotting and in differentiated osteoblasts to

Phagocytosis is one of the earliest cellular functions, developing approximately 2 billion years ago. Although FcR-based phagocytic signaling is well-studied, how it originated from ancient phagocytosis is unknown. Lipid redistribution upregulates a phagocytic program recapitulating FcR-based phagocytosis with complete dependence
