Cell Line Origin

Human neuroblastoma tumour mass of left adrenal gland

Cell Line Description

A neuroblastoma cell line established from a tumour of the left adrenal area of an 18-month-old male patient. The patient was previously treated with vincristine, cyclophosphamide, dimethyltriazenoimidazole carboxamide, adriamycin, and irradiation. The cells grow as adherent colonies consisting of neuroblast-like cells forming dense mounds. Individual cells radiate from the mounds which reach confluency after routine passaging for several months. This cell line has been reported to have tyrosine hydroxylase activity.
