General description

The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes rat MAG / Myelin-associated Glycoprotein / Siglec-4a.

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)

Biochem/physiol Actions

Myelin-associated glycoprotein (MAG) is expressed in Schwann cells and oligodendrocytes. It inhibits the growth of axons. MAG also has a role in signal transduction pathways and cell adhesion. In complex with the neurite outgrowth inhibitor (Nogo) receptor, MAG acts on neurons via the p75 receptor. It activates and modulates the function of Ras homolog gene family, member A (RhoA).
