Spezifität
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects secondary ossification center-associated regulator of chondrocyte maturation protein (SNORC). It targets an epitope within 67 amino acids from the extracellular domain.
Immunogen
His-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to 67 amino acids from the extracellular domain of murine SNORC protein.

Zielbeschreibung
Protein SNORC (UniProt: Q9CXL7; also known as Secondary ossification center-associated regulator of chondrocyte maturation protein) is encoded by the Snorc gene (Gene ID: 73234) in murine species. SNORC is a highly conserved, single-pass membrane protein that is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-24), which is subsequently cleaved off to generate the mature form that contains an extracellular domain (aa 25-92), a transmembrane domain (aa 93-113), and a short cytoplasmic domain (aa 114-121). It contains a highly conserved glycosaminoglycan (GAG) attached to serine 44. Its expression is observed only in cartilage and plays a role in the regulation of chondrocyte maturation and postnatal endochondral ossification. It is reported that SNORC is not essential during early differentiation and its function pertains more to mature chondrocytes. (Ref.: Jaiswal, PK., et al. (2020). Sci. Rep. 10; Article 7790).
