Human Caucasian foetal lung fibroblast
Cell Line Description
Derived from lung tissue of a 16 week old female Caucasian foetus. The cells have a virus susceptibility similar to WI-38 (Sigma catalogue no. 90020107) and MRC-5 cells (Sigma catalogue no. 84101801). The cells have a finite lifespan. Available as a growing order only.
Application
IMR-90 human cell line has been used to study the cytotoxicity of hydroxyapatite/gold/arginine (HAp/Au/arginine) nanoparticles.

Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
