General description
A fluorescence energy transfer (FRET) peptide substrate with MMP cleavable Gly-Leu bond and EDANS/Dabcyl as fluorophore/quencher combination. Useful for the detection of MMP activity (kcat/Km = 619,000 M-1s-1 for MMP-2, 206,000 M-1s-1 for MMP-9, 40,000 M-1s-1 for MMP-3, 21,000 M-1s-1 for MMP-1; pH = 7.6 at 37°C). Exhibits a high degree of sensitivity, which is not affected by optical disturbances in biological media. Excitation max.: ~340 nm; emission max.: ~485 nm.
