Application

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. We also provide Prestige Antibodies® protocols and other useful information.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor, type 3 (ITPR3) is a protein encoded by the ITPR3 gene in humans. It helps in mediating Ca2+ signaling in epithelia and regulates cellular functions such as secretion, apoptosis and cell proliferation. The gene is expressed in colon cancer and its expression level is directly related to aggressiveness of the tumor, which may reflect inhibition of apoptosis by the receptor. It has a strong association with the development of type 1 diabetes and, plays a critical role in the development of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and Graves′ disease. It may act as a novel therapy for slow invasive growth of glioblastoma.

Caractéristiques et avantages

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Calcium signaling is important in many signaling processes in cancer cell proliferation and motility including in deadly glioblastomas of the brain that aggressively invade neighboring tissue. We hypothesized that disturbing Ca(2+) signaling pathways might decrease the invasive behavior of giloblastoma

The inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (InsP3R) mediates Ca(2+) signaling in epithelia and regulates cellular functions such as secretion, apoptosis and cell proliferation. Loss of one or more InsP3R isoform has been implicated in disease processes such as cholestasis. Here we examined

Kawasaki disease (KD) is the most common form of pediatric vasculitis. Though its etiology is unknown, researchers have suggested that it is related to genetics. The inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate receptor type 3 (ITPR3) gene has a strong association with the development

Although the involvement of type 1 (IP3R1) and type 2 (IP3R2) inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors in apoptosis induction has been well documented in different cancer cells and tissues, the function of type 3 IP3R (IP3R3) is still elusive. Therefore, in this
