Gene Information

human ... FAAH(2166)

Specificity

Recognizes human Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase (FAAH). The immunogen shows no significant sequence homology with other hydrolases

SPECIES REACTIVITIES: The immunogen peptide is 100% conserved in rat, 94% in mouse and porcine and 58% in chicken. Reactivity with other species has not been confirmed.

Immunogen

A 17 amino acid peptide sequence near the N-terminus of human FAAH (Patricelli et al. 1998; Maccarone et al. 1998; Cravatt et al. 1996; Giang et al. 1997; Thomas et al. 1997; Wan et al. 1998).

Application

This Anti-Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase Antibody is validated for use in ELISA, WB for the detection of Fatty Acid Amide Hydrolase.
Western blot: 1-10 μg/mL using ECL.

ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100 ng control peptide (Catalog Number AG376) per well.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Physical form

Affinity purified immunoglobulin. Liquid in 100 mM Tris, pH 7.5, containing 0.2% BSA and 0.05% sodium azide.

FASEB journal : official publication of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, 19(12), 1704-1706 (2005-07-23)
The discovery of multipotent neural progenitor (NP) cells has provided strong support for the existence of neurogenesis in the adult brain. However, the signals controlling NP proliferation remain elusive. Endocannabinoids, the endogenous counterparts of marijuana-derived cannabinoids, act as neuromodulators via

Endocannabinoids exert an important neuromodulatory role via presynaptic cannabinoid CB1 receptors and may also participate in the control of neural cell death and survival. The function of the endocannabinoid system has been extensively studied in differentiated neurons, but its potential

Endocannabinoids act as neuromodulatory and neuroprotective cues by engaging type 1 cannabinoid receptors. These receptors are highly abundant in the basal ganglia and play a pivotal role in the control of motor behaviour. An early downregulation of type 1 cannabinoid
