Description générale

Replication protein A3 (RPA3) is a DNA-binding protein of 14kDa and the gene encoding it is present on chromosome 7.

Immunogène

Replication protein A 14 kDa subunit recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

Application

All Prestige Antibodies Powered by Atlas Antibodies are developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project and as a result, are supported by the most extensive characterization in the industry.

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. The antibodies that have been generated in support of the Tissue and Cancer Atlas projects have been tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues and through the recent efforts of the Human Cell Atlas project, many have been characterized by immunofluorescence to map the human proteome not only at the tissue level but now at the subcellular level. These images and the collection of this vast data set can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. We also provide Prestige Antibodies® protocols and other useful information.

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Replication protein A3 (RPA3) which is one of the subunits of replication protein A (RPA) has essential roles in every aspect of DNA metabolism such as- DNA replication, repair and recombination. It is crucial for RPA function and contains an oligonucleotide-binding (OB)-fold motif. RPA3 is involved in heterotrimer formation and is responsible for the polarity of binding to DNA. It participates in protein–protein interactions and also interacts with the 3′-side of the ssDNA, as it is transiently but easily accessible to the RPA DBD domains.

Caractéristiques et avantages

Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
  • IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
  • Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.

Replication protein A (RPA), a heterotrimer with subunits of molecular masses 70, 32, and 14 kDa, is a single-stranded-DNA-binding factor involved in DNA replication, repair, and recombination. There have been only three reported cases of anti-RPA in systemic lupus erythematosus

Elevated expression of DNA repair and replication genes has been reported in thick, non-fixed primary melanomas that subsequently went on to metastasize, when compared to non-recurrent primary tumours. This increased expression could contribute to the extreme resistance shown by melanoma

Activity-based probes (ABPs) are widely used to monitor the activity of enzyme families in biological systems. Inferring enzyme activity from probe reactivity requires that the probe reacts with the enzyme at its active site; however, probe-labeling sites are rarely verified.
