General description

GranuCult® plus WL (Wallerstein Laboratories) Nutrient Agar has a pH of 5.5, which is optimal for the enumeration of brewers′ yeast. If bakers′ or distillers′ yeast is to be examined, the pH should be adjusted to 6.5 (better yields). When cultivating microorganisms from an alcoholic mash, tomato juice should be added to the medium. WL differential agar contains cycloheximide to suppress yeasts and any molds that may be present; this medium allows reliable counting of all bacteria that may be encountered in the tests performed in brewery laboratories.

Application

GranuCult® plus WL nutrient agar is suitable for the enumeration and cultivation of yeasts and bacteria in the microbiological control conducted in the brewing and other fermentation industries.

Features and Benefits

  • GranuCult® offers superior granulated culture media.
  • Safe and sustainable due to reduced risks associated with fine dust and toxic substance inhalation, resulting in a safer work environment.
  • Excellent wettability, solubility, and free-flowing properties
  • Convenient, with minimal component separation and clumping, even under warm or humid conditions.
  • High batch-to-batch reproducibility
  • Prolonged shelf life of up to five years
  • High number of test strains exceeding all regulatory demands
  • Granulation technology allows many supplements to be included, with no need to add these separately
