General description

Metol (4-methylaminophenol sulphate) is white crystalline which helps in determination of phosphate by reduction reaction of phosphomolybdic acid to molybdenum blue with intense colour. It is used as reducing agent. A solution of Metol could be prepared by dissolving a known amount in water with hydrated sodium sulphite along with which few drops of Brij needs to be added.
