Metastatic Melanoma (metastatic site: lymph node). Cell Bank Australia reference number: CBA1345.
Culture Medium
RPMI 1640 (with 2 mM L-Glutamine + 25 mM HEPES) + 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Optimal split ratio 1:4, MM138 has a relatively slow doubling time of around 60 hours. It does not become confluent and will detach after 6-7 days. If split too hard the doubling time is greatly increased. (Seeding density 0.8 x104 cells/cm2). Harvest the cells using 0.05% Trypsin/EDTA at 37 °C for 5 min.
